Dasa bhukti periods are planetary periods that indicate the planets ruling during those times. Generally, events indicated by the Mahadasa happen during the relevant Antardasa. The dasa calculator calculates and displays the dasa bhukti periods where the good or bad effects of the planet's movement are seen. These effects will manifest according to the Rasi (position of Moon), House (Bhava), Combinations (Yogas or Raja Yogas) or Aspects (Drishti).
Wherever auspicious results are being produced by the planet in the above cases, it is based again on the shadbala of the planet. If the planet has full strength the results will be very good and if it is of moderate strength it will be moderately good and where the planet is weak the good results will be meager. In case of bad results, a strong planet may reduce the effects of bad whereas the weak planet worsens the bad effect.
To read the effects of Dasha lords the following qualitative assessment should be made: - The natural qualities of the planets. - The sign qualities where the planet is based its dignity in that sign whether Exalted, Debilitated or Retrograde - Its benefic or malefic disposition as lord of house/houses - Benefic or malefic nature as per Nakshatra Siddhanta - Sum effects of its benefic or malefic in Divisional disposition - Its strength in motional direction (Ucchabhilashi (towards exaltation) I Neechabhilashi (towards debilitation) and the combust positions and the speed of planets (ati Chara etc.) - In the descending order of the strength each planet operates as Bhukti lord in every Dasha.
